Exponent Calculator
What is an Exponent?
An exponent (or power) represents how many times a number is multiplied by itself. For example, in the expression 2³, 2 is the base number and 3 is the exponent, meaning 2 × 2 × 2 = 8.
How to Calculate Exponents
To calculate an exponent, multiply the base number by itself the number of times indicated by the exponent. For example, 5² means multiply 5 by itself 2 times: 5 × 5 = 25.
Common Examples
- 2⁴ = 2 × 2 × 2 × 2 = 16
- 10³ = 10 × 10 × 10 = 1,000
- 5² = 5 × 5 = 25
